halfa Dram of Salt ofTartar, infused all Night in four Ounces of Cichory-Water. Strain it and drink it. 5. A Quartan Ague. 29. Apply to the Suture of the Head , when the Fit is coming, Wall July Flowers, beating together Leaves and Flowers with a little . Salt. Keep it on 'till the hot Fit is over. Repeat this, if Need be. 30. Ufe Arong Exercife, (as Riding or Walking, as far as you can bear it) an Hour or two beforethe Fit. If poffible, continue it ' till the Fit begins. 'This alone will frequently cure :-Tried . 31. Or, apply to the Wrifts a Plaister of Turpentine : 32. Or , of bruifed Garlick: 33. Or, of bruifed Pepper, mixt with Treacle : 34. Or, apply Oil ofTurpentine to the small of the Back, before the Fit: 35. For a Tertian or Quartan, vomit an Hour after the cold Fit begins. Then go to Bed , and continue a large Sweat by Lemonade, (that is, Lemon, Sugar and Water ) for fix or eight Hours. This ufually cures in three or four Times : If it does not, use the Cold Bath between the Fits. 36. Or, drink every Morning a Gill of White Wine, That is, An Ague which miffes two Days, coming on Monday (fuppole) and again on Thursday.
