Catholic Spirit Universal Redemption Means of Grace
Washing the Head every Morning in cold Wa ter, prevents Rheums, and cures Coughs, old Head-achs, and fore Eyes. Water drinking generally prevents Apoplexies, Afthma's, Convulfions, Gout, Hyfteric Fits, Madness, Palfies, Stone, Trembling. To this Children should be bred up from their Cradles. The best Water to drink, especially for those who are much troubled with the Wind, is Rainwater. After it has fettled , draw it off clear into anotherVeffel, and it will keep fweet for a long Time. Electrifying in a proper Manner, cures St. Anthony's Fire, Blindness, Blood extravafated, Bronchocele, Burns or Scalds, Coldness in the Feet, Contraction of the Limbs, Convulfions , Cramp, Deafness, Falling Sickness, Feet Feet violently diforder'd, Felons, Fiftula Lacrymalis, Fits, Flooding, Ganglions, Gout, Head-ach, Impofthumes, Inflammations, King's- Evil, Knots inthe Flefh, Lameness, Wafting, Weakness ofthe Legs, Locked Jaws or Joints, Leprofy, Menftrual Obftructions, Pain in the Stomach, Palpitation ofthe Heart, Palfy, Rheumatism , Ring-Worms, Sciatica, Shingles, Sinews fhrunk, Stiff-joints, Sprain, however old, Surfeit, Swellings of all Sorts, Throat fore, Tooth-ach, Ulcers, Wens. Nor Nor have I yet known one fingle Inftance, wherein it has done Harm : So that I cannot but doubt the Veracity of thofe who have affirmed the contrary. de Haen pofitively affirms, " it can do no hurt in any cafe :" that is, unless the Shock were immoderatelystrong. Fafling Spittle outwardly applied every Morning, has fometimes relieved, and fometimes cured Blindness, Contracted Sinews, from a Cut, Corns, (mixt with chew'd Bread and applied every Morning) Cuts, ¡fresh) Deafness, Eye-lids, red and inflamed, Scorbutic Tetters, Sore Legs, Warts, Taken inwardly, it relieves or cures Afthma's, Cancers, Falling Sickness, Gout. The The best Way is , To eat about an Ounce of hard Bread, or Sea-b.fcuit, every Morning ; fafting two or three Hours after. This fhould be done, in ftubborn Cafes, for a Month or fix Weeks.
