Hours, in two Quarts of white Wine in a Vef. fel close stopt. Strain and drink a large Glass ofthis every Morning, and an Hour after drink another. It commonly cures in a Fortnight. A good Trufs mean Time is ofgreat Use. 695. " I Place, fays Dr. Riviere, a broad Plank floping from the Side of the Bed to the Ground. On this I lay the Patient upon Pillows, with his Head downward. Then I foment the Part for half an Hour, with Cloths four Times doubled steeped in cold Water, gently touching it with my Fingers. Afterwards I bind on it a many-times doubled Cloth fhaped like a Triangle, wet in cold Water. The Gut is generalJy reftored to its Place in a few Hours. If not, I repeat the Operation twice a Day, and in two or three Days the Disease is cur'd." 184. A Fresh Rupture. 696. Take Decoction of Plantane-leaves, Morning and Evening : 697. Warm Cow Dung well. Spread it thick on Leather, ftrewing fome Cummin-feeds on it, and apply it hot. When cold put on a new one. It commonly cures a Child (keeping his Bed) in two Days . 187. A Scald Head. 700. Anoint it with Barbadoes - Tar : 701. Or, with Yarrow Ointment made with GoofeGreafe : 702. Or, apply daily White-wine Vinegar. Tried. 188. The Sciatica . 703. Is certainly cured by a Purge taken in a few Hours after it begins : 704. Or, ufe cold Pathing, and sweat, together with the Flesh Brush twice a Day : 705. Or, apply Leaves of Ranunculus bruifed, for fix Hours : 706. " Many have been cured in four or five Days, only by drinking half a Pint of coldWater daily, in the Morning, and at four in the Afternoon." 707.
