4 A heart in every thought renew'd, And full of love divine ; Perfect, and right, and pure, and good, A copy, Lord, of thine ! 5 Thy tender heart is still the same, And melts at human woe : Jesus, for thee distress'd I am, I want thy love to know. 6 My heart, thou know'st, can never rest, Till thou create my peace ; Till, of my Eden re-possest, From every sin I cease. 7 Fruit of thy gracious lips, on me Bestow that peace unknown, The hidden manna, and the tree Of life, and the white stone. Seeking for full Redemption. o*ZO 8 Thy nature, gracious Lord, impart ; Come quickly from above ; Write thy new name upon my heart, Thy new, best name of love. 1 r I ^HOU hidden love of God, whose height. A Whose depth unfathom'd, no man knows ; I see from far thy beauteous light, Inly I sigh for thy repose : My heart is pain'd, nor can it be At rest, till it finds rest in thee. 2 Thy secret voice invites me still The sweetness of thy yoke to prove ; And fain I would ; but though my will Seems fix'd, yet wide my passions rove ; Yet hindrances strew all the way ; I aim at thee, yet from thee stray. 3 'Tis mercy all, that thou hast brought My mind to seek her peace in thee ; Yet while I seek, but find thee not ; No peace my wandering soul shall see ; O when shall all my wanderings end, And all my steps to thee-ward tend ! 4 Is there a thing beneath the sun That strives with thee my heart to share ; All, tear it thence, and reign alone, The Lord of every motion there !
