5 Thou hast on us the grace bestow 'd
Thy greatness to proclaim ;
And therefore now we thank our God,
And praise thy glorious name.
6 Thy glorious name and nature's powers
Thou dost to us make known ;
And all the Deity is ours,
Through thy incarnate Son.
HYMN 249. c. m.
1 r^ REAT God ! to me the sight afford,
^J To him of old allow'd ;
And let my faith behold its Lord
Descending in a cloud.
2 In that revealing Spirit come down,
Thine attributes proclaim,
And to my inmost soul make known
The glories of thy name.
3 Jehovah, Christ, I thee adore,
Who gav'st my soul to be !
Fountain of being, and of power,
And great in majesty.
For Believers Rejoicing. *Z/±\
4 The Lord, the mighty God, thou art ;
But let me rather prove
That name in-spoken to my heart,
That favourite name of Love.
5 Merciful God, thyself proclaim
In this polluted breast ;
Mercy is thy distinguish'd name,
Which suits a sinner best.
6 Our misery doth for pity call,
Our sin implores thy grace ;
And thou art merciful to all
Our lost apostate race.
HYMN 250. c. m.
1 nnHY ceaseless, unexhausted love,
J- Unmerited and free,
Delights our evil to remove,
And help our misery.
2 Thou waitest to be gracious still.
Thou dost with sinners bear ;
That, saved, we may thy goodness feel,
And all thy grace declare.
3 Thy goodness and thy truth to me,
To every soul, abound ;
A vast, unfathomable sea,
Where all our thoughts are drown 'd.
4 Its streams the whole creation reach,
So plenteous is the store ;
Enough for all, enough for each,
Enough for evermore.
5 Faithful, O Lord, thy mercies are !
A Rock that cannot move :
A thousand promises declare
Thv constancy of love.
242 For Believers Rejoicing.
(> Throughout the universe it reigns,
Unalterably sure ;
And while the truth of God remains,
The goodness must endure.
HYMN 251. cm.
1 T^ATHER of me, and all mankind,
*- And all the hosts above,
Let every understanding mind
Unite to praise thy love :
2 To know thy nature, and thy name,
One God in Persons Three ;
And glorify the great I AM,
Through all eternity.
3 Thy kingdom come, with power and grace,
