2 Ah ! show me that happiest place,
The place of thy people's abode,
Where saints in an ecstasy gaze,
And hang on a crucified God :
Thy love for a sinner declare,
Thy passion and death on the tree ;
My spirit to Calvary bear,
To suffer and triumph with thee.
3 'Tis there, with the lambs of thy flock,
There only, I covet to rest,
To lie at the foot of the rock,
Or rise to be hid in thy breast :
'Tis there I would always abide,
And never a moment depart ;
Conceal'd in the cleft of thy side,
Eternally held in thy heart.
1 r> OD of my life, to thee
^J My cheerful soul I raise !
Thy goodness bade me be,
And still prolongs my days ;
I see my natal hour return,
And bless the day that I was born.
2 A clod of living earth,
I glorify thy name,
"ZZZ For JBelievers Rejoicing.
From whom alone my birth,
And all my blessings, came ;
Creating and preserving grace,
Let all that is within me praise.
3 Long as I live beneath,
To thee O let me live !
To thee my every breath
In thanks and praises give !
Whate'er I have, whate'er I am,
Shall magnify my Maker's name.
4 My soul, and all its powers,
Thine, wholly thine, shall be ;
All, all my happy hours
I consecrate to thee :
Me to thine image now restore,
And I shall praise thee evermore.
5 I wait thy will to do,
As angels do in heaven ;
In Christ a creature new,
Most graciously forgiven,
I wait thy perfect will to prove,
All sanctified by spotless love.
6 Then, when the work is done,
The work of faith with power,
Receive thy favour' d son,
In death's triumphant hour ;
Like Moses to thyself convey,
And kiss my raptured soul away.
HYMN 230. 6-8's.
1 FOUNTAIN of life and all my joy,
*- Jesus, thy mercies I embrace ;
The breath thou giv'st, for thee employ,
And wait to taste thy perfect grace ;
No more forsaken and forlorn,
I bless the day that I was born.
For Believers Rejoicing. 223
Preserved, through faith, by power divine,
A miracle of grace I stand !
I prove the strength of Jesus mine !
