And admitted the harlots and publicans in.
They have heard the glad sound ;
They have liberty found,
Through the blood of the Lamb,
And plentiful pardon in Jesus's name.
4 And shall we not sing
Our Saviour and King ?
Thy witnesses, we
With rapture ascribe our salvation to thee !
Thou, Jesus, hast bless'd,
And believers increased,
Who thankfully own,
We are freely forgiven through mercy alone.
5 His Spirit revives
His work in our lives,
His wonders of grace,
So mightily wrought in the primitive days.
O that all men might know
His tokens below,
Our Saviour confess,
And embrace the glad tidings of pardon and peace !
6 Thou Saviour of all,
Effectually call
For Believer's Rejoicing. 'Zio
The sinners that stray ;
And, O, let a nation be born in a day !
Thy sign let them see,
And flow unto thee
For the oil and the wine,
For the blissful assurance of favour divine.
7 Our heathenish land
Beneath thy command
In mercy receive ;
And make us a pattern to all that believe :
Then, then let it spread,
Thy knowledge and dread,
Till the earth is o'erflovv'd,
And the universe fill'd with the glory of God.
1 A LL glory to God in the sky,
-^~*~ And peace upon earth be restored :
O Jesus, exalted on high,
Appear our omnipotent Lord !
Who, meanly in Bethlehem born,
Didst stoop to redeem a lost race,
Once more to thy creatures return,
And reign in thy kingdom of grace !
2 When thou in our flesh didst appear,
All nature acknowledged thy birth ;
Arose the acceptable year,
And heaven was open'd on earth :
Receiving its Lord from above,
The world was united to bless
The Giver of concord and love,
The Prince and the Author of peace.
3 O wouldst thou again be made known,
Again in thy Spirit descend,
And set up in each of thine own,
A kingdom that never shall end !
^14 For Believers Rejoicing.
Thou only art able to bless,
And make the glad nations obey,
And bid the dire enmity cense,
And bow the whole world to thy sway
4 Come then to thy servants again,
Who long thy appearing to know ;
Thy quiet and peaceable reign
In mercy establish below :
All sorrow before thee shall fly,
