On thee alone for strength depend ;
Nor have I power from thee to move ;
Thy Nature and thy Name is Love.
7 Lame as I am, I take the prey ;
Hell, earth, and sin, with ease o'ercome ;
I leap for joy, pursue my way,
And, as a bounding hart, fly home ;
Through all eternity to prove
Thy Nature and thy Name is Love.
HYMN 142. fs.
1 T^VROOPING soul, shake off thy fears ;
*-J Fearful soul, be strong, be bold ;
Tarry till the Lord appears,
Never, never quit thy hold !
Murmur not at his delay,
Dare not set thy God a time :
140 For Mourners
Calmly for his coming stay,
Leave it, leave it all to him.
12 Fainting soul, be bold, be strong ;
Wait the leisure of thy Lord :
Though it seem to tarry long,
True and faithful is his word !
On his word mv soul I cast :
(He cannot himself deny ;)
Surely it shall speak at last ;
It shall speak, and shall not lie.
3 Every one that seeks shall find ;
Every one that asks shall have ;
Christ, the Saviour of mankind,
Willing, able, all to save ;
I shall his salvation see ;
I in faith on Jesus call ;
I from sin shall be set free,
Perfectly set free from all.
4 Lord, my time is in thine hand ;
Weak and helpless as I am,
Surely thou canst make me stand ;
I believe in Jesu's Name :
Saviour in temptation thou,
Thou hast saved me heretofore ;
Thou from sin dost save me now ;
Thou shalt save me evermore.
*HYMN 143. ft.
1 TESU, Lover of my soul,
*J Let me to thy bosom fly,
While the nearer waters roll,
While the tempest still is high :
Hide me, O my Saviour, hide,
Till the storm of life be past ;
Safe into the haven guide,
O receive my soul at last !
Convinced of Sin . 1 4 ]
"2 Other refuge have I none,
Hangs my helpless soul on thee ;
Leave, ah ! leave me not alone,
Still support and comfort me :
All my trust on thee is stay'd ;
All my help from thee I bring ;
Cover my defenceless head
With the shadow of thy wing.
