To Martha Chapman Date: LONDON, October 13, 1781. DEAR PATTY, I returned hither yesterday in the afternoon, and had the pleasure of yours. I hope to be at High Wycombe on Monday and Tuesday, at Oxford on Wednesday noon, and at Witney on Wednesday evening. If in all these trials your mind is unmoved and fixed upon Him that loves you, they will only help you forward on your way. Wesley's wife died on Oct. 8, and was buried on the 12th. 'I was not informed of it till a day or two after.' See Journal, vi. 337. I am, dear Patty, Your affectionate brother.
